Description
Of the many strange forms of ancient animal life brought to light by the labours of geologists and collectors in many parts of the world, perhaps those of the Dinosaurian order are the most wonderful. Not only in size, but in strangeness and variety, they may be said almost to stand alone. They were indeed the veritable dragons of old time, and seem to come nearer than any other antediluvian animals to the monsters of fairyland, whose acquaintance we all made in the nursery.
