Description

Fred Myers, some asshole who throws boomerangs.  The end.

Just kidding.  I mentioned him in the Punisher entry--he's Fred Myers.  A bit of catching up: after Hammerhead flees the country after a failed coup against the Kingpin and due to continued attacks from the Hobgoblin, Wilson Fisk starts to look outward for allies.  He finds one in Frank Oliver, an illegal arms dealer from Australia.  One of Oliver's top men is this guy, Fred Myers, who wields a bunch of high tech boomerangs as a goofy gimmick, and he's the guy who is in charge of selling the merchandise to the Kingpin's men in New York.  An early deal involves Myers and his men meeting up with Herman Schulz (the Shocker), one of the few remaining loyal cronies to the Kingpin, and a bunch of the Kingpin's men.  But there are other players attempting to cast their hand in this game--this is the site where Spider-man first meets the Punisher.  Black Cat is also present, having been the one who tipped off Spider-man about the deal (she's no longer in the Kingpin's good graces and had to divulge that information herself).  Basically, a gigantic brawl goes down with Spider-man mainly focused on preventing the Punisher from killing Fred Myers and his men.  In the end the only people captured are the crooks including Myers and Schulz, the Punisher manages to get away, managing to inflict no casualties thanks to Spider-man's intervention.  But Spider-man is left wondering who exactly had tipped the Punisher off about the deal.

Oh yeah, and the Kingpin doesn't know this at this point, but the weapons that Oliver was having Myers sell to him were actually supplied to Oliver by Roderick Kingsley.  The Kingpin's getting played from all angles now.  This is of course all pre-Demogoblin and Clone Saga stuff so the Hobgoblin and the Kingpin are all still major players at this stage.

So yeah, "some asshole who throws boomerangs" was my entire design focus here.  The mask -sorta- has ties to his brief Ultimate appearance, and his shirt and visor are based on his modern design, but mostly I went in my own direction here.  It was a design I had to play around with a bit before I really got what I wanted out of it, but I'm happy with the final design.  The Punisher and Boomerang encounter is also something I pulled from his brief Ultimate appearance.
