067--FALCARIUS UTAHENSIS by Green-Mamba 067--FALCARIUS UTAHENSIS by Green-Mamba
project: DINOSAURIA
specimen 067

FALCARIUS UTAHENSIS
"Utah Sickle Cutter"
Kirkland et al., 2005
Length: 4m (13ft)
Weight: 226kg (500 lbs.)
Location: Utah, USA
Era: Barremian age, lower Cretaceous (126 million years ago)

Classification:
Dinosauria
Saurischia
Theropoda
Tetanurae
Avetheropoda
Coelurosauria
Maniraptora
Therizinosauria

Notes:
The very first discovery of Falcarius was made in a vast bonebed containing the disarticulated remains of thousands of individuals from all age groups.

UPDATE FEB 19, 2013:
As a side effect from the discovery of Ornithomimid wings, phylogenetic bracketing suggests Therizinosaurs may have as well, so I have edited Falcarius accordingly. I also added some extra feathering to its body due to changing personal aesthetic preference. Go here ([link]) for the original.

Beipaiosaurus also had "filaments perpendicular to the arm," probably hookless feathers crushed in preservation, so this inference is supported by evidence.
