Hey there, long time no post eh? I'm here for a couple things.
One, I do recall saying that the new paleoart project would be up and running a long time ago now, and I have to say, sorry I've been slow on it, and I still don't really have anything of it to show you yet, but I am now willing to say
what the project is.
The new project is being called
Fossils of the Science Museum of Minnesota. I myself volunteer there regularly, and it struck me as both a fun project for myself and something I could use volunteering. The museum itself has quite an array of fossil animals on display, a lot more than you would think a place with as little paleontological significance as Minnesota; the final count is still up in the air (I need to determine how I'm doing some of the harder ones yet). But the animals are all manners of creatures, vertebrates, invertebrates, dinosaurs, mammals, pterosaurs, trilobites, what have you. I spent a day photographing and cataloging them all, and I still think I'm missing a few.
The pictures themselves will end up being larger and more detailed than the ones I did for project: Dinosauria, featuring actual shading and stuff for one (which is why I have been practicing a lot the past few weeks). So... I'm not entirely certain if I'll be able to keep up a rigorous schedule like I did for project: Dinosauria. But I will try my best to be regular once it starts up.
So look forward to it!
Also, I should say, I have started up a tumblr, because that seemed like what all the cool kids are doing these days. Known as
Hotel Dilong, you can find it at
hoteldilong.tumblr.com. This is not a replacement for my deviantArt account, this is merely supplementary. Much of the same art will be found there, alongside extra sketches that I may not want to take the time and archive on dA. So, you should follow it.
Or not. But I suggest you do.
That's all I got for now.
