"Secured Well Armored Head"
Lambe, 1910 (originally Stereocephalus Lambe, 1902)
Length: 6m (20ft)
Weight: 2 tonnes (2.2 tons)
Location: Alberta, Canada
Era: Campanian age, upper Cretaceous (76 million years ago)
The scientifically best known Ankylosaur, Euoplocephalus tutus, as it is currently understood, seems to have lasted nearly ten times longer than most dinosaur species, which typically lasted only a million or so years--it is thought by many paleontologists, however, that the species is over-lumped and that there is more species variation actually present than is immediately obvious.
