076--LAMBEOSAURUS LAMBEI by Green-Mamba 076--LAMBEOSAURUS LAMBEI by Green-Mamba
project: DINOSAURIA
specimen 076

LAMBEOSAURUS LAMBEI
"Lawrence Lambe's Lawrence Lambe's Lizard"
Parks, 1923
Length: 9.4m (31ft)
Weight: 1.9 tonnes (2.1 tons)
Location: Alberta, Canada
Era: Campanian age, upper Cretaceous (76 million years ago)

Classification:
Dinosauria
Ornithischia
Cerapoda
Ornithopoda
Iguanodontia
Dryomorpha
Ankylopollexia
Styracosterna
Hadrosauriformes
Hadrosauroidea
Hadrosauridae
Lambeosaurinae

Notes:
Lambeosaurus is sometimes described in less technical literature as one of the largest Hadrosaurs (indeed, perhaps the largest non-Sauropod dinosaur), but this isn't really true--for a while, there was another species of duckbill that was considered a putative species of Lambeosaurus that was that magnificently large, but it was clearly a different animal and has since been reclassified to its own genus, Magnapaulia.

Synonyms:
Didanodon Osborn, 1902
Procheneosaurus Parks, 1920
Tetragonosaurus Parks, 1931

UPDATE FEB 26, 2013:
As it was discovered after I had done this that Hadrosaurids could not pronate their hands, I went back and adjusted the Lambeosaurus to show this. Go here ([link]) for the original.

Nasal sack really grabbed my attention, as it likely would be intended to in real life if it was how you envision it.
